23rd-Sep-2008 02:40 pm - Icons Anyone?
Jared » Santa Hat
I have tried my hand at making a few icons of David, so I thought I'd post them here if anyone was interested :). Please take into account that I'm still learning as I've never been brilliant at making icons. I love to collect them, but making them- that's another story :D! The first two are from the San Sebastian International Film Festival which I found here & the other two are new pics of Lupin that I found here.

Any feedback you might have is welcome. Please feel free to use them if you so desire. All I ask is that you credit me :).

I know I only posted yesterday but I was browsing through the Sunday Mirror magazine supplement (Celebs magazine) this morning when I came across a small article about Anna going shopping. It was 2 pages long and covered with recent pictures of Anna shopping and one picture showed the entire clan: Anna, David and Gracie (Gracie’s face respectably blurred by the magazine). According to the written part, Anna was shopping for men’s clothes for David (bless!)

Anyway, the only picture of David in the article is found under the LJ cut tag. Enjoy

(btw if posting pictures like this is against the community rules, please tell me and I WILL delete the post, I promise) :-)

(PS for the record, I see that mandy_thewlis credited me for finding the link of the interview yesterday that she posted on her site either last night or this morning. Cheers babes and I had no idea it was on Youtube *adds it to her favourites*)

I found an interview with David that was posted this morning by ITN. You can watch it online at:

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/itn/20080914/video/ven-david-thewlis-challenging-new-role-cf04a8a.html

Be patient. You will have to watch an advertisement first but it’s only about 20 seconds long. Once the ad is over, the interview will then start. Trust me. It’s an interview with David talking about his role in “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”; how the role was hard because there are two sides to him that he had to portray and about what happened back stage.

I was able to get a screencap from the interview by using that lovely “Print Screen” key and you can see that under the LJ cut tag.

A cap from the interviewCollapse )

Enjoy :-)

Well, it’s finally here: The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas is finally going to be released. I personally have been looking forward to this ever since I found out that David was going to be in it. A few weeks after the news broke, I was in the library and saw it in the withdrawn section for 20p. It was an almost new hardback but the reason for its cheap price was that there was a small bloodstain on one of the pages (not much blood and it was on a page with no writing but hey it was a bargain). I recommend the book to ANYONE, child or adult. It’s a fantastic look into how things are seen through the eyes of the child.

I’ve not seen the film but I can honestly see David in the role of Father. I think his role is complex because he has to portray him in a way that he is through the eyes of a child whilst at the same time, the audience doesn’t forget what his role in the film is (I’m not saying anymore because I don’t want to spoil it).

Anyway, there were two reviews I saw this week in the Sunday papers my mum buys: The Sunday Mirror and The People. I have scanned them in and put them under a lj cut tag but if you don’t want spoilers, I’ll just say the basics:

a) Both papers give it 4/5 and compared to the other films reviewed in each paper, it is the highest rated film this week (although The People accidentally states it’s The Boy WITH the Striped Pyjamas lol)
b) Both praise David enormously (Richard Bacon in the People states: Bruno is the son of a ************ **** ********** (played by one of the best actors around, David Thewlis) and The Sunday Mirror states: David Thewlis offers a suitably complex and thoughtful performance as Bruno's father (words replaced by asterisks because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who doesn’t know yet)

Anyway if you want to see the reviews in full, go under the lj cut tag and enjoy! There will hopefully be a review in the film supplement of the Mirror on Friday and I will scan it for you lot, if you want.

The scanned in reviewsCollapse )

31st-Aug-2008 07:43 pm - Mood Theme?
Jared » Santa Hat
This is my first time posting here and I just have to say I'm a huge David Thewlis fan! :) I was wondering, are there any decent mood themes out there featuring David?

Does anyone know where I can find some good animated gifs of DT?

Also, does anyone know who made this icon? I love it and want to give the person credit!

Thank you darlings!

I'm new to this comm. and I'm not sure if I can make a post just saying hello? But I wanted to thank you goddesses (gods, perhaps?) for making my unfortunate Tuesday much, much hotter. I'm going to have to buy more icon space because of you.

So it isn't ThewlislessCollapse )

Okay, this is really, really random, really, really short, and really, really lame.

a.) I'm assuming David was doing HP or something and that's why he's not in any of the Hamilton Mattress bonus features, other than the one second we see him like this. Which was nice, don't get me wrong. In fact, I about died.

b.) Weird noises made while drumming + "trousers" = cute. And somehow, this does look like him a bit:

c.) I really just wanted to post to share this icon, which I made and now want to watch all day. STEAL IT!
